Launching the Bell Fund Thermometer

The Bell Fund reached its first milestone early in October having raised £5,000 in our first six months. We used to occasion of the Gemini Choir concert to ask David Martin, the Rector of St Laurence, to unveil the thermometer and announce our results.

Our aim was to raise the money for the bells' restoration in time for their 300th birthday in 2011. In order to do this we had to raise £12,000 a year for each of the five years. This equates to £1,000 each month so we are a little bit behind target but this was our first six months and we have had a lot to learn.
