May Day Lamb Roast

[Ken Hawkesford carving a lamb roast]

Ken Hawkesford will be roasting some lamb for us on Monday May 7th as part of our campaign to raise the money needed to refurbish the bells. St Laurence tower (and the bar)will be open from five o'clock that afternoon for visiting ringers and the meal will be served at seven.

Do not confuse this with the routine pre-packaged "Pig Roasts" that you may have seen elsewhere. Ken will be preparing and cooking two whole lamb over a wood fire on May Day; starting at about ten in the morning and slowly roasting them to perfection through the day. These are prime Salt Marsh Welsh Lamb, the sweetest and tenderest on the market.

Relax at the end of May Day with a meal and a drink at St Laurence and watch the sun go down over the village. Tickets are £5 a head if bought in advance (£6 on the day) for a generous serving of lamb and a choice of side dishes. Children are half price. These events are always popular and tickets are limited so phone Pam now on 0121 445 1049.
